Saturday, May 30, 2026- 9:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.
Join us for a fun and informative Welcome to Kindergarten district-wide event. Explore school readiness, meals, transportation, dual language programs and more.
Bonus fun for kids: Kids can enjoy a fun school bus ride experience—perfect for first-time riders!
Special breakout sessions will also be offered during the event for families interested in diving deeper into specific topics:
- Special Education & Inclusion-10:00 a.m.
- Kindergarten Readiness- 11:15 a.m.

Get Ready for Kindergarten!
Join us for Jump Start:
Jump Start is August 19-21, 2026!
Jump Start helps incoming kindergarten students and their parents be ready to start school. This program is free and open to all incoming students who are registered for kindergarten at a Highline elementary school.
Jump Start helps children familiarize themselves with their new school, kindergarten teacher, classmates, and daily schedule before school starts in September.
During Jump Start, each school hosts a family meeting to learn about the school, meet teachers, and find out how to support your child’s learning.

We are a Dual Language school! Students learn in English and Spanish.
The goals of the dual language program are to help students:
- Become bilingual and biliterate, developing high levels of proficiency in two languages.
- Perform at or above grade level in academic areas in both languages.
- Demonstrate positive cross-cultural attitudes and behaviors.
